Behind the scenes of a smooth takeoff: Jet Executive’s dual relocation
In June 2025, Jet Executive marked a major milestone in its ongoing evolution, executing two simultaneous relocations while maintaining uninterrupted flight operations
At first glance, the mission appeared clearly defined: a move to the centrally located Medienhafen district in Düsseldorf, and a strategic relocation of flight operations from Munich International Airport (EDDM) to the specialised Oberpfaffenhofen Airport (EDMO), just west of Munich. But behind the logical and structured transition laid a high-stakes logistical operation, full of complexity and coordination challenges.
More than just a move
Relocating an airport base is no ordinary task. As a dedicated air ambulance provider, every piece of medical equipment, flight documentation, and operational infrastructure needed to be tracked, packed, and transferred without disrupting the urgent, lifesaving missions that define the company’s core purpose. The transition required the parallel operation of both EDDM and EDMO during the switchover, involving aircraft repositioning, maintenance assets, spare parts, and ground handling logistics.
Simultaneously, Jet Executive’s headquarters relocation to Düsseldorf’s modern Medienhafen district demanded its own precise decision-making process and logistical operations. Office moves included the migration of IT and communication systems, HR infrastructure, and regulatory documentation, all while employees continued their daily work supporting flight dispatch, client relations, and business partner communication.
The physical moves, however, were just the beginning. With the new facilities operational, the company immediately entered a phase of intensive post-relocation setup. As mandated by aviation authorities, all internal manuals had to be reviewed and rewritten to reflect the changes. Departments across the organisation, from flight and ground operations to quality management, maintenance, and executive oversight, are now undergoing audits and procedural validations to maintain full compliance.
In tandem, the team undertook a widespread communication effort to inform all relevant stakeholders: clients, partners, regulatory agencies, and government authorities. This outreach was managed alongside daily operations, highlighting the team’s commitment and professionalism. Across both locations, the experience fostered a strong sense of collaboration and unity, with employees actively contributing to what has become a proud new chapter in Jet Executive’s story.
A new start with fresh opportunities for growth
Despite the scale of the effort, Jet Executive views this transformation as a springboard to greater efficiency and autonomy. The new dedicated hangar at EDMO offers independence from the constraints of a major international hub, enabling more flexible scheduling, quicker turnaround times, and increased privacy for both flight and medical crews. Meanwhile, the new headquarters places the company at the heart of a vibrant business and innovation district, perfectly aligned with its ambition to accelerate digital transformation.
Indeed, alongside the relocations, Jet Executive is investing in its future by digitalising its operations. An enhanced software solution for quoting, scheduling, reporting, communication, and crew planning has been designed and is being implemented step by step. While these upgrades add to the immediate workload, they promise a more agile, data-driven future, where we are capable of scaling with the dynamic needs of medical aviation.
What emerges from this transition is far more than a story of updated addresses and new spaces. It’s a demonstration of strategic foresight, organisational resilience, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Jet Executive’s dual relocation and post-move optimisation efforts underscore its mission to set new standards in the air ambulance sector, both on the ground and in the sky.
As the dust settles, the flights continue, the care never stops, and Jet Executive is more ready than ever for what lies ahead.

We include an examination on defining ‘fitness to fly’, and ask if an industry standard can be identified, and what that would involve. We also look at capacity in the aeromedical market and experts share their insights. Ethics and transparency in the aeromedical sector is a big issue, and we include an investigation into air ambulance payments.
