Around the world speed record flight — The Century Mission

Global Jetcare’s dedication to helping others goes beyond patient care – it extends to supporting non-profits, especially within the aviation community.

In April 2024, Global Jetcare quite literally accomplished a record-setting fundraising feat, achieving an official Westbound Speed Record for circumnavigating the globe in a Learjet during The Century Mission.

This achievement was completed on 6 April 2024, marking the 100th Anniversary of the original World Flight in 1924. The total flight time for the crew of five was 67 hours and 28 minutes for the Century Mission, in comparison to the World Flight in 1924 which took 175 days and 74 stops to complete.

Global Jetcare initiated the Century Mission as a fundraiser for the Classic Lear Jet Foundation’s restoration to flying condition of the first ever delivered Learjet, the 23-003, where it was built in Wichita, KS in 1963.

Global Jetcare donated their time, their Learjet and their crew for the Century Mission, raising thousands of dollars, and have more missions like this in the planning stages, including a Polar Mission in April of 2025.

The 2024 Century Mission was able to complete the Around The World Flight and set the record, due in large part to the condition of the Learjet within Global Jetcare’s fleet that was used to fly the mission. The company takes pride in the level of maintenance and upkeep that is critical and consistent across all planes in their air ambulance fleet. It is a testament to that quality standard that no mechanical issues delayed any leg of the Century Mission Around The World Flight.
