India drops quarantine requirement for UK travellers
Fully vaccinated travellers from the UK will no longer have to quarantine in India, the UK FCDO has confirmed
Fully vaccinated arrivals will need to self-monitor for 14-days, rather than the previous seven-day quarantine period. Vaccinated travellers will also no longer have to take a PCR test to gain entry and the requirement for a PCR test on the eighth day of arrival has also been removed.
All travellers, regardless of vaccination status, will need to submit a self-declaration form online via the Air Suvidha portal before arrival.
However, unvaccinated travellers will still need to provide evidence of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure and undertake a week-long quarantine period on arrival. A PCR test will then be required on the 8th day.
Children must isolate for seven days
Children will also have to isolate at home for seven days. If they test positive upon arrival in Delhi, they will have to undergo institutional quarantine.
Amrit Singh, Managing Director of TransIndus, said: "We are very excited about the news and our travellers who have been waiting in the wings for the destination to open have received the news with equal excitement.
"Although almost at the end of the winter travel season we feel we will be able to rescue at least the month of March and April and get TransIndus on a path of recovery."
