Cruisers unconcerned about Covid-19, despite testing requirements
The cruise line industry has been slower to rebound post-pandemic, compared to other travel sectors
A recent survey by travel insurtech Squaremouth.com revealed that 65 per cent of cruisers aren’t concerned about Covid-19, including testing positive and being restricted entry.
This is a complete shift from earlier this year, when 63 per cent of customers were most concerned about Covid and being unable to cruise as planned.
Some cruise lines still require passengers to test negative before boarding, such as Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Disney, Celestyal and Celebrity, but rules vary based on vaccination status.
After the busy summer season, the weather and other airline-related disruptions related to staffing shortages have overtaken Covid as a leading traveller concern, according to Squaremouth.
