Indian holidaymakers favouring cruises for international travel
The cruise experience is proving very attractive to Indian travellers, according to a survey conducted by Hansa Research on behalf of Norwegian Cruise Line
The survey, conducted in August 2022, found that eight out of 10 urban Indian families planning to travel internationally in the next 12 months are considering a cruise holiday.
Additionally, 79 per cent of Indians surveyed want to vacation with their families, while 89 per cent believe it is ‘very important’ to spend quality time with family for personal wellbeing.
Over three quarters (78 per cent) of respondents said their core holiday travel goal was to create memories with loved ones, while 65 per cent stated their main goal was to visit different places and experience new things.
Respondents with families, particularly children under 15 years of age, prioritised kid-friendly holiday options when choosing a destination.
Additionally, the survey also found that when travelling with family, 69 per cent of Indians said value and inclusive pricing were an important consideration, while 61 per cent felt that easy access to activities and attractions was a priority.
Thomas Cook India similarly reported a high level of interest in cruises among Indian holidaymakers in August.
