Thailand leads growth in countries enquiring about US insurance
China and Mexico are also purchasing more US insurance policies
Pacific Prime, the global insurance broker, has released new data on international insurance policies sold in 2021 and 2022, as well as on enquiries received during the same time period.
The data shows which countries are seeing growth – or decline – in insurance policies purchased by Americans, and which nationalities are most interested in insurance coverage in the US. The data also highlights the top countries that Americans are enquiring about in terms of insurance coverage.
Highlights include:
• Thailand was top of the list of countries enquiring about US insurance, with a 600% increase in 2022
• Chinese nationals had a 210% increase in purchasing insurance coverage in the US
• Mexican nationals had a 55% increase in purchasing US insurance policies
• Enquiries for US insurance from Brazilian nationals declined by 15%
• Short-term insurance policies for American travelers to China saw a 169% increase
• Short-term insurance policies for American travelers to Mexico and Taiwan saw a 200% and 80% increase, respectively
• There was 127% increase in insurance policies purchased by Americans in Hong Kong
• Americans purchased more insurance policies in China in 2022.
