Medtronic expands partnership with Sunway Healthcare Group
The two companies will work to enhance specialist medical provision at the Sunway Medical Centre in Malaysia
Malaysian private healthcare provider Sunway Healthcare Group has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with medical device firm Medtronic.
The Sunway Group said that the MoU marks a “significant step forward” for the two companies’ strategic partnership.
The agreement will support further enhancements to the Centres of Excellence at the Sunway Medical Centre private quaternary hospital in the city of Subang Jaya.
In particular, there will be a focus on improvements to the treatment of spine, neuroscience, and cardiovascular medicine at the hospital.
Sunway stated that through the partnership, the hospital will “serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, professional development, and clinical research, particularly in advanced robotic surgical techniques”.
The government of the Nigerian state of Enugu approved construction of a new 250-bed quaternary healthcare facility earlier this month.
