LeaderSail signs deal with Trip Insurance
US-based leadership development programme LeaderSail has signed online insurer Trip Insurance as its preferred provider of travel insurance to Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) students participating in its initiatives. LeaderSail, now in its fourth year, takes young men and women from JROTC programmes across the US on one-week and two-week voyages to the British Virgin Islands to undergo shipboard seamanship training. Students are required to carry some form of travel insurance – including medical coverage – before they sail, but LeaderSail has previously found that most students’ insurance had certain exclusions preventing coverage in case of emergency in the West Indies. Trip Insurance was able to tailor its packages to meet the specific requirements of LeaderSail participants, offering medical travel insurance, trip cancellation policies and other kinds of insurance that could benefit cadets who may experience delays. “This relationship allows us to work closely to create custom programmes,” said Dan Skilken, president and chief executive of Trip Insurance, “so everyone wins.”
