Hospital opens in Lagos, Nigeria
Healthcare provider Iwosan Lagoon Hospitals has opened a new facility in Victoria Island, in the Nigerian megacity of Lagos
The 27-bed facility offers a range of advanced diagnostics facilities, including a catheterisation laboratory, a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner, and a digital X-ray machine.
The new facility will serve as a centre of excellence for advanced cardiology and cardiac surgeries, and will also offer a range of other key services, including general surgery, critical care and emergency, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, and orthopaedics and trauma.
The hospital is intended to improve the availability of high-quality healthcare in the city, as well as to serve growing demand from medical tourists to the country.
Speaking to the Independent Newspaper Nigeria, Dr Ayobami Kuyoro, the Managing Director of Iwosan Lagoon Hospitals, said: “Our vision at Iwosan Lagoon Hospitals is to build a consistently patient-first, world-class healthcare services provider network catering to the teeming needs of the populace, which is why we have commissioned this new facility.”
AXA also opened a new hospital in Lagos in June of this year.
