Holidaysafe offers flight delay cover with fast-track payouts

The optional add-on uses flight-tracking technology to monitor trips and offers a real-time payout of up to £150 should the customer’s flight be delayed by three hours or more.

Policyholders will input their flight details when they take out a policy. DelayOK’s tracking technology then sends an alert to the customer once a flight delay passes the three-hour mark.

Customers are then prompted to provide their bank details and confirmation of the delay. Once this is done the payment is made.

Amber Moon, Holidaysafe Brand Manager, said: “This add-on means travellers can get financial compensation as soon as their flight is delayed for three hours. Travellers who take out this cover can claim their compensation with a minimum of fuss thanks to the automated flight-tracking technology.”

New research from travel tech firm AirHelp recently revealed that over 10 million passengers across the UK faced flight disruption between November 2023 and February 2024.
