Finalists named for the Business Travel Sustainability Awards Europe
Around 40 companies and individuals have been named as finalists across 12 categories in the second annual Business Travel Sustainability Awards Europe
Now in their second year, the awards recognise the efforts of those in the corporate travel industry striving to reduce the environmental impact of business trips.
The winners will be revealed at the BTN Group’s Business Travel Sustainability Awards & Summit Europe in London on 14 May.
Received from companies across Europe, entries were assessed and scored by an independent panel of 20 judges. The panel includes senior corporate travel buyers, independent travel management consultants and other sustainability and ESG experts.
Air France-KLM Group, easyJet, and Virgin Atlantic have been named as finalists in the Achievement in Sustainability – Airline category, while citizenM, Lamington Group, NH Hotel Group and Meliá Hotels International are finalists in the Achievement in Sustainability – Accommodation category.
This year’s finalists in the Achievement in Sustainability – TMC category are ATPI, BCD Travel, Clarity Business Travel, Reed & Mackay, and Travel Planet. Meanwhile, Arcadis, AstraZeneca and Salesforce are up for the Achievement in Sustainability – Managed Travel Programme award.
The three individuals in the running for the Sustainability Champion award in 2024 are Inge Huijbrechts, from Radisson Hotel Group, SkyTeam’s Robin Spierings, and Andrew Kalinin, from Uber for Business. The award recognises those in the industry who show advocacy and leadership in advancing sustainability within the business travel industry.
Late last year, the European Commission revealed the 2024 European Capital and Green Pioneer of Smart Tourism.
