Powered by specialist partner GSA Global, the new tool is now available to Aviva Business Travel customers

Aviva has announced the launch of its free Travel Risk Management Maturity Model Self-Assessment, designed to help businesses evaluate and manage their travel-related risks more effectively.

The risk assessment, powered by specialist partner GSA Global, is now available to new and existing Aviva Business Travel customers.

The self-assessment tool assesses businesses against the ISO 31030 Travel Risk Management (TRM) standard, a best-practice framework that helps organisations evaluate and manage their work-related travel risks effectively. It covers policy development, programme implementation, threat identification, risk monitoring and prevention strategies.

The assessment provides an overall summary of an organisation’s performance against the ISO standard, helping them identify areas for improvement and implement effective risk management strategies.

Aviva’s Business Travel product provides cover for medical expenses, emergency travel expenses, repatriation, emergency medical evaluation, and accommodation and sustenance expenses as a result of accidental bodily injury or illness occurring abroad. A range of benefits is included as standard, including cover for personal belongings, travel delay or cancellation, hijack, kidnap and ransom, and legal expenses.

Luke Powis, Head of Crisis Management at Aviva, said: “Investing the time to ensure that travel management policies and procedures meet best-practice criteria can help create solutions before problems occur. Business travellers can face a range of risks, and it’s essential that companies think ahead to ensure staff are protected as much as possible.”

A recent study shows that the travel risk management services market is set to expand at a CAGR of 8.1% .
