Advice changed for Egypt
The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has changed its travel advice for Egypt – it no longer advises against all but essential travel to Luxor, and no longer advises British nationals without a pressing need to be in Cairo, Alexandria and Suez to leave by commercial means. The FCO said: “Since 28 January, we had advised against all but essential travel to the city of Luxor. However, based on the improved situation on the ground, we judge that it is now safe for British nationals to travel there.” The warning against all but essential travel to Cairo, Alexandria and Suez, though, remains in place as these cities are considered to be more volatile than Luxor.
