Kiss Flights stops trading

Travel insurance

Bankruptcy signIn further bad news for the travel industry in the UK, budget travel company Kiss Flights has ceased trading. London-based firm Flight Options Limited, which traded principally as Kiss Flights, folded on 17 August. All of its customers with flights, or flights and accommodation packages, will be able to complete their holidays and return to the UK due to the protection offered by the ATOL scheme, administered by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Flight Options also traded under several other names: Africa Options, America Options, Canada Options, Caribbean Options, Dubai Options, Elgouna Options, Elgouna Villas and Apartments, Florida Options, Florida Owners Club, Gold Options,, Kiss Holidays, Orlando Villas Direct,, Travel Options Direct and Travel Plus.
The CAA has estimated that there are around 13,000 people currently overseas with the company, and a further 60,000 people with forward bookings. A statement from Kiss Flights blamed over capacity in the marketplace, poor demand, good weather in the UK, industrial action in Greece and the demise of Goldtrail Holidays for their own problems. It added: "All the above have resulted in poor yields, very late booking trends (resulting in slow forward sales for September and October), which have resulted in severe cash flow issues."
