The South Pacific is still reeling from two natural disasters that struck within hours of each other at the end of September. Charlotte Hodgman reports on the aftermath of the tragedies

An earthquake-triggered tsunami hit the Pacific islands of Samoa at 06.48 am local time on 30 September, generating giant waves that have left over 180 people dead and 1,000s of others injured or homeless.
