Fee for flying babies

Australian airline Jetstar has introduced a fee for parents to bring babies on domestic flights.

In line with the new fees, parents will be charged AUS$30 for their baby to sit on their lap on domestic flights and $50 on flights between Australia and New Zealand or international flights.

The fee for international flights has increased by $10 and applies per infant, per flight.

The new domestic fee covers a full one-way journey and allows for up to four oversized infant items. According to Jetstar’s website, these include a pram, a stroller, a portable cot and a highchair.
