Travel insurance provider Columbus Direct has launched a competition entitled ‘Australia and New Zealand's Travel Heroes’, which seeks to recognise and reward people who travel to make the world a better place, and give them a platform to share their stories.
The competition is open to ‘travel heroes’ in Australia and New Zealand aged over 18. The winner, who will be announced on 15 December 2016, will receive AU$500 travel money and Columbus Direct will donate $5,000 to their chosen charity.
“We wanted to find a way to share stories … and recognise all the amazing travellers who use their holiday time to make a difference in the world,” said marketing manager at Columbus Direct Antje Lauterbach. “That's how our Travel Heroes initiative was born.”
