The UK’s first terrorism travel insurance policy Safe Journey, which was launched by International Travel and Healthcare, has announced a single parent family (SPF) rate.
The rate covers one adult and up to five children and costs £18.15 for a 14-day single trip and £42.45 for an annual multi-trip policy.
Safe Journey was developed by a team led by managing director Kate Huet, following the high-profile global terrorist attacks in Tunisia, Bangkok, Sharm El Sheikh and Paris in 2015. “Suitable travel insurance can be difficult to find for single parent families as many travel insurance family policies require two adults to be included on the policy,” said Huet. “When we designed Safe Journey, one of our aims was to ensure there are no unnecessary barriers to take up for any applicant. I am happy to say that single parent families can now purchase a tailored and cost effective policy to suit their needs.”
Huet explained that the SPF policy should help consumers travel stress-free: “Travel insurance plays a vital role in assisting consumers when they are in need, and Safe Journey will give UK single parent travellers the extra peace of mind knowing that their family is financially protected in this changing world.”
SPF policies will be available from 1 October.
