VisitorsCoverage upgrades Europe policy
VisitorsCoverage, a travel insurtech company based in the US, has announced that it has upgraded its Europe Travel Plus policy, and made it available to US citizens travelling to Europe. Previously, the policy was only available to non-US citizens
The policy, which already includes an automatic Schengen visa application if required, has been upgraded to include new benefits, including a one-way airline ticket in economy class and cover for airline change fees, should the policyholder be denied entry into Europe for a reason covered by the terms of the policy.
“Fourteen million people used a Schengen visa to travel around Europe in 2018,” commented Rajeev Shrivastava, CEO and Founder of VisitorsCoverage. “Coverage for border entry denial provides peace of mind to the traveller should they find themselves without proper documentation or other entry mishaps. The addition of this unique benefit makes the Europe Travel Plus plan stand out among the other competing products in the market and proves timely with the upcoming implementation of the ETIAS visa requirements.”
These requirements will come in from 2021, and will mandate co-operation with the ETIAS scheme for travel to all Schengen countries for a trip of up to 90 days. US citizens do not need Schengen visas, but they will need to complete the ETIAS application.
“As global travel to Europe continues to grow, the Europe Travel Plus plan, with hand-picked benefits — tailored to the traveller’s needs — will both simplify the process and provide better coverage for the customer,” said Shrivastava. “The new availability to US citizens and improved benefits for denied entry into Europe (for a covered reason) again proves that Europe Travel Plus is a superior policy for all travel to Europe.”
