VisitorsCoverage has announced the development and launch of a new travel protection product catering to cruise passengers. SafeCruiseSM, which comes equipped with ‘handpicked travel insurance benefits’, has been created in response to the significant year-on-year increase noted in the number of holidaymakers choosing a cruise as their preferred trip option.

Both millennials and baby boomers are reportedly drawn to the benefits of cruises – VisitorsCoverage cites figures from the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association that estimate 27.2 million people around the world took a cruise holiday in 2018, a number that is expected to rise again throughout 2019.

VisitorsCoverage has developed SafeCruiseSM in partnership with International Medical Group (IMG). The package includes emergency medical evacuation, accident and sickness medical expense, trip interruption, and optional benefits such as cancel-for-any-reason coverage.

“We are excited to work with VisitorsCoverage on SafeCruiseSM,” said Amanda Winkle, IMG’s Vice-President of International Sales. “The travel industry has seen a rapid increase in demand for cruise vacations and SafeCruiseSM was created to meet the specific needs of those travellers. VisitorsCoverage continues to be a market leader, developing products to meet their clients’ need.”
