Bupa Global needs a HERO

International health insurer Bupa Global has announced a new partnership with HERO, through which Bupa will offer the HERO International Scorecard to its business customers. The scorecard, a collaboration with Mercer, is a web-based tool that employers can use to create inventories of health and wellbeing best practices, measuring their performances against high benchmarks, and work on consistently improving their approach. It surveys employers based on a number of workplace health criteria – such as the promotion and integration of health initiatives for employees, participation rates, organisational and cultural support and other factors – so that employers can easily assess their own effectiveness.

“With half of the world’s population in work, employees increasingly expect their employer to play an active role in their health and wellbeing, yet some businesses still don’t appreciate the commercial and strategic value of workplace health initiatives,” said Patrick Watt, Bupa Global’s Commercial Director for Europe. “That’s why we’ve partnered with HERO to give our customers the means to measure and report on the impact of the workplace health programmes they have implemented. Workplace health is a key way for businesses to attract and retain talent – but it’s important to partner with an experienced provider who can support in the provision, promotion and execution of these kinds of initiatives.”
