April Canada has announced the release of a new professional liability insurance package aimed at ‘business orientated’ professionals, including travel agents, event planners and consultants. It has been designed to complement a commercial lines product also recently launched by April, which caters to mortgage brokers, venture capital firms and other financial institutions.
“A lot of brokers we work with are rural or smaller in size,” commented Kent Pitkin, vice-president, Ontario and Commercial Lines Director at April Canada. “And they might only have one or two professional accounts to deal with, and so we do our best to assist them with placing that business. What we’re seeing in the marketplace is that lots of brokers are shifting from personal lines into the commercial lines space.”
The product can be offered as either an individual or package policy, and includes cyber coverage, among other services.
