US customers have better access to affordable short-term health insurance
In the US, consumer choice of health insurance has reportedly expanded thanks to regulation changes, meaning that consumers have two viable options: short term health insurance and Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans.
Short Term Health Insurance, depending on the state, is now available for terms up to 12 months with an option to renew for up to 36 months. According to Agile Health Insurance, which was created to educate people about the benefits of short-term health insurance, the ACA insurance plans are beneficial for those with circumstances that require more robust benefits and/or financial support, while short term health insurance is a good option for those who have been priced out of the ACA market but still want a safety net in case of accidents or illnesses.
Agile Health Insurance also said that short-term health insurance plans often come with a much more affordable premium but more streamlined benefit packages.
