Senior travellers to make strong return in 2023

The demographic has been largely dormant following the Covid-19 pandemic
New data suggests that senior travellers will be back this year, following a couple of quieter years because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to travel insurance marketplace Squaremouth.com, senior travellers made up nearly half of all customers in 2019, but this figure dropped to just 16 per cent in 2020.
However, now the share of travellers aged 60 and over has more than doubled, rising by 125 per cent.
This is the first time since the start of the pandemic that senior travellers accounted for the largest demographic. It is also a reflection of pre-Covid travel trends.

Although, travellers over 60 are still the most concerned demographic in terms of contracting Covid-19, despite a 21 per cent drop in searched for Covid-related coverage over the past year.
They are also the age demographic that is searching for insurance policies with medical coverage more than any other.
