ROCK launches Covid-19 travel guide for travel agents
The UK-based travel insurer believes that ‘one constantly updated source of truth’ is the best resource for the industry
ROCK Insurance’s new guide, which features on the website insurefor.com, enables travel agents to keep abreast of travel restrictions in popular holiday destinations.
“With travel restrictions changing virtually daily at the moment, it is hard for individual travel agents to keep 100-per-cent up to date with what Covid-19 tests are required to enter which country or when there is suddenly a blanket ban on people entering a country from the UK,” said Steve Endacott, ROCK Insurance Chairman. “Rather than have lots of agents constantly digging through poorly laid-out government sites, I thought it would be a good idea to pool resources and produce one constantly updated ‘source of truth’ for the travel industry.”
Up-to-date travel info on the top 30-beach holiday destinations
The guide, which Endacott commissioned through The Content Gym, is to be updated regularly, and will reflect changes in travel restrictions to the top-30 beach holiday destinations.
Individual travel agents that wish to access the site may do so for free; however, companies that wish to access it for use with customers will need to co-sponsor the site, as ROCK has done.
Commenting on the resource, Anthony Martin, Managing Director of ROCK Insurance, said: “Agents and consumers have been accessing our Covid-friendly travel insurance products throughout the pandemic and it’s logical to provide this essential information.
“The constant FCDO changes and government travel bans have made it extremely difficult for consumers to book their travel arrangements.”
A resource like this will no doubt prove a very handy tool for travel agents advising travellers and booking holidays on their behalf. With inbound travel requirements constantly changing (Canada has recently tightened Covid-19 measures at its borders, for example) and Covid-19 case numbers in a state of flux around the world, an extra level of confidence (in this case from a travel agent) will be a reassuring factor for individuals planning trips in 2021.
