Pluto comes first!
Travel insurtech company Pluto has won British Airways’ ‘The Future of Flying’ competition. The competition, which was organised by British Airways and Founders Forum, urged applicants to come up with an ingenious solution to problems that millennials face when buying travel insurance, and Pluto reigned supreme, providing individually-tailored policies and customer service available on Facebook Messenger, with everything – from buying a policy to making a claim – explained in plain English.
As winner of the competition, Pluto will receive 100,000 business and Avios points, a one-page advert in the British Airways’ onboard magazine, Business Life, and the chance to have a business meeting with Brent Hoberman, Founder of lastminute.com, Founders Forum and Founders Factory.
Alex Rainey, CEO of Pluto, said: “Being recognised as a top innovator and disruptor in the travel space by a heavyweight and incredible British brand like British Airways is incredible. The introductions and support that’s also come from Founders Forum has been fantastic. This is an important time for our business as we’re just starting out and raising awareness for Pluto and everything we stand for if hugely important.”
With innovative offerings such as its customer-centric chatbot and accessible approach to insurance, it’s no surprise that Pluto is taking the insurance industry by storm. The integration of technology within insurance is becoming increasingly integral to success, especially as far as the customer journey is concerned, and we’re sure to see a surge in this application as time goes on.
