Obituary: Colin Plotkin
Industry veteran Colin Plotkin died on 6 October; his funeral was held on 8 October
Colin was an experienced medical consultant with a demonstrated history of working in the medical insurance industry. Amongst other qualifications, he held degrees in Medicine & Surgery (MB.B.Ch.) from the Medical School of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg in South Africa.
He was a recognised healthcare services professional, with decades of experience in insurance, customer service, employee benefits design, strategic planning, and business process improvement. In 2003, he founded Colin Plotkin & Sons Consulting, which later became Plotkin Health.
Ian Cameron, Editor-in-Chief of ITIJ, said: “Colin and I often had lively exchanges of opinion during our interactions at conferences, and I had great respect for his passion for the industry. He held strong views on the international healthcare sector, and was never afraid to air those views. While he had been retired for some time, he will nonetheless be missed within the community.”
