Tigon’s new offering will support its broker product by covering the cost of testing if customers need to cancel their trip following a positive test result. Tigon’s Covid-19 protection product already includes pre-departure cover for cancellation if travellers test positive for Covid-19 (even at the airport) and cannot travel. It also covers hospital benefits should anything happen during their trip.
Furthermore, these policies have now been updated to also provide cancellation cover if customers are contacted by the NHS Test and Trace system and told they must self-isolate within 14 days prior to their departure date. This includes the date their trip is due to commence, or if a member of their household receives a positive Covid-19 test result within 14 days prior to their departure date, which means that they are still required to self-isolate on the date their trip is due to commence. This is applicable for customers taking trips both in the UK and abroad.
