New partnership to bring custom travel insurance solutions to the US market
A partnership with Spinnaker is set to enhance battleface’s US product development and growth in custom-built products and services for partners
Travel insurance and assistance provider battleface has joined forces with Spinnaker Insurance Company, a leading fronting carrier, wholly owned by insurtech firm Hippo Enterprises, to curate customised traveller products for B2B2C markets.
“Led by a global team of travel insurance experts, battleface combines innovative technology and modular underwriting to create, distribute and service customised travel insurance products,” said Lisa Conway, battleface’s newly appointed Chief Underwriting Officer. “With the ever-changing global travel requirements and customer’s needs, we believe there’s a growing need for an alternative custom-based approach when designing travel insurance products and services. Spinnaker’s technology expertise, comprehensive filings, and broad flexibility will add to our value proposition for our partners and their customers.”
Indeed, in a recent study commissioned by battleface, the provider found that there was a growing appetite for travel insurance amongst Americans in 2021, many of which valued cancellation coverage very highly. It’s new partnership announcement, then, comes at a timely moment.
Tech-friendly solutions
Also commenting on the new partnership, Dave Ingrey, CEO, Spinnaker, said: “Within the travel industry, battleface brings an innovative approach to its custom insurance solutions that proactively protect and serve the needs of today’s travellers. We’re excited to work with the battleface team to strengthen and scale their custom-built products and services with our tech-friendly innovative fronting carrier solutions.”
According to a press release from the company, Greenlight Re, battleface’s Seed Round lead investor, is to provide reinsurance support behind battleface’s products.
