New online insurance platform
Times Internet, the internet subsidiary of the Times of India Group, has launched an online insurance platform.
The platform, ETInsure.com, is starting with car and two-wheeler insurance, and plans to soon add health, life and travel products.
“The launch of ETInsure.com is in line with our mission to simplify the financial journey of consumers in India,” said Mukesh Kalra, who is leading Times Internet’s expansion into financial technology. “Insurance is a critical part of this mission as the current experience of buying and owning an insurance policy is cumbersome and riddled with rampant mis-selling from pushy sales agents.”
ETInsure.com is designed as a mobile responsive website that allows consumers to instantly buy an insurance policy without any paperwork, according to the company. It also said that it will digitally decode the complex terms and conditions of each policy and present them to consumers in simple visuals and easy-to-understand language.
“We have re-designed and re-engineered the entire insurance stack from the ground up,” said Shankar Nath, principal officer and head at ETInsure.com. “We are excited to empower our consumers to make informed decisions about their insurance needs, so that they feel positive about their future – as they are well covered.”
