Currently, the majority of travel policies have a claim limit of between $300 and $500 for stolen electronic items – if they include them at all – and although some home insurance policies will cover such items, they may not protect them against damage incurred while travelling internationally. “Expensive digital cameras and portable electronics are common accessories for international travellers,” said Dan Skilken, founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of TripInsurance, “but travel insurance rarely covers these devices. We’re committed to [giving] our customers peace of mind for every aspect of their trip.”
On an annual policy, equipment will be covered for multiple trips, as well as at home.
