InterMundial wraps PCR testing and travel insurance into one package
Passengers planning trips to Spain can now access pre-trip PCR tests as part of InterMundial’s new ‘Health Passport’ insurance offering
Following news that Spanish airports are now requiring arrivals to present negative PCR tests to enter the country, Madrid-based travel insurance provider InterMundial has launched its ‘Health Passport’ insurance – which covers the cost of a PCR test before travelling, among other things.
At €140, Health Passport offers customers travel insurance for up to 34 days covering the following:
- The cost of carrying out a PCR test before the trip
- Covid-19-related medical assistance up to €150,000
- Cover for extension of stay related to Covid-19
- Cancellation cover for up to 40 different causes, including due to testing positive for Covid-19
The new offering allows customers to modify the dates of their trip as often as they need up until 31 December 2021 – a move that InterMundial says reflects the ‘new reality, in which changes in travel plans occur more frequently, and it is committed to enhancing flexibility in its solutions’.
Enticing customers with a holistic offering
Back in August of this year, InterMundial launched an initiative that gave customers access to rapid and reduced-price PCR testing for Covid, as this was a barrier to inbound visitors. Now, expanding its offering to include PCR testing within the cover of its new travel insurance plan allows it to provide a holistic service that will be far more convenient to prospective travellers who may have been put off by the multiple steps involved in travel to the destination.
