InsureMyTrip adds IFAR to academic travel protection

The company has expanded its academic travel protection program to include interruption for any reason (IFAR) coverage for inbound students

The addition will allow users of the Academic Explorer Travel Protection program – international students currently travelling to the US on a valid F, J, or M visa to enrol at an educational institution for at least one year – to receive compensation if they have to cut short their time in the US.

Trip delay and protection for belongings is also included alongside the IFAR coverage. The coverage is available to inbound students with the plan as an optional addition.

The IFAR coverage offers reimbursement of up to 50 per cent of the insured’s non-refundable tuition and accommodation expenses in the event that they have to cut their time in the US short.
