InsuranceDekho introduces travel insurance
Indian insurance comparison site InsuranceDekho has added travel insurance to the range of products on its online platform, in response to growing demand post-pandemic
Visitors to the website can now compare products by a range of travel insurance providers, including HDFC Ergo, Reliance General, Care Travel Insurance (formerly Religare), ICICI Lombard and Bajaj Allianz. InsuranceDekho is expected to add more insurers to the platform once it has finalised agreements with them.
“In the post-Covid era, Indians are travelling again, with international travel growing at 76 per cent year-on-year – which has widened the market for insurance providers,” said Ankit Agrawal, Co-Founder and CEO of InsuranceDekho. “There is high digital adoption for travel insurance as currently more than 33 per cent Indian international travellers buy insurance directly from the insurance company’s websites, which makes this an attractive segment for innovation and disruption. We are building InsuranceDekho as a one-stop shop for all insurance solutions and diversified investment options; this is one crucial step in that direction."
The website also offers comparisons between a range of other insurance types, including health and life, car and motorbike, investment, pet and term insurance.
The general insurance industry in India is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.9 per cent from ₹2,172.03 billion ($29.39 billion) in 2021 to ₹3,484.35 billion ($41.78 billion) in 2026, according to GlobalData.
