Google steps up with a new Covid-19 health and safety feature on Google Travel
By working with hotels to enhance its travel booking services, Google may well help build customer confidence in travel
Announced at the beginning of November, Google is adding additional Covid-related health and safety info to its Google Travel booking service. Users will be able to see Covid-19 health and safety precautions in place at hotels and other vacation rental properties when they search for their accommodation through the Google Travel tool.
Health and safety features listed include:
- Whether or not enhanced cleaning procedures are in place
- If employees are trained in Covid-19 cleaning procedures and thorough handwashing
- If masks are required at the property and if these are available for guests
- If there’s an option for contact-free check-in
Hotels partnering with Google Travel
Marriott, Hilton, Comfort Inn (Choice Hotels), Holiday Inn (IHG), Best Western, Hyatt, Radisson and Four Seasons are among the hotels partnering with Google Travel as part of its new enhanced health information service.
