Expats in Kuwait to be banned from public hospitals
The Kuwait Times has reported that, according to sources within the health ministry, expats in Kuwait are to be banned from treatment in public hospitals within three years. The sources reportedly said that lawmakers had complained that too many expats have been exempted and that these groups still pose a burden on public hospitals and prevent citizens from getting proper medical services on time. In addition, the sources said that treating expats in public hospitals will be shortly phased-out but that it is premature to begin such measures now as health insurance hospitals have not yet begun operations and private hospitals are not currently equipped to deal with all expatriates.
