Europ Assistance acquires Trip Mate
Europ Assistance, through its US subsidiary Generali Global Assistance, has announced its acquisition of Trip Mate from Arthur J. Gallagher. The transaction is part of Europ Assistance’s plans to expand its travel insurance product and service offering in the US.
Trip Mate will still trade under its established brand name, but it will henceforth operate under the umbrella of Generali Global Assistance companies in the US. Customers and partners of TripMate will now have access to Generali’s expertise and global reach, while retaining the customer-centric account management and partnership approach that made it an attractive proposition for acquisition. It will also provide its new parent company with fresh services and technology and help to make processes more efficient; the plan is to introduce a wave of new products throughout the forthcoming year.
“Very simply, we focus on our customers and aim to provide the best possible customer service,” said Chris Carnicelli, CEO of Generali Global Assistance in the US. “From day one there was a cultural fit in Trip Mate, sharing a caring approach for our customers, and we believe that we can help the Trip Mate team by providing resources, leading technology and digital capabilities tailored for their customers. We are also very much looking forward to working with Trip Mate to enhance product features while providing international solutions for those clients who are looking to expand globally.”
