Ursula Wyman AXA

Ursula Wyman will also be a member of the company’s Commercial Executive Committee

AXA UK has announced the appointment of Ursula Wyman as the new Chief Operating Officer for its Commercial business.

Wyman joined AXA UK on 15 November and will be responsible for driving operational progress such as advancing the company’s digital strategy as well as managing any Covid-19 related operational requirements, reporting to CEO of AXA Commercial, Jon Walker.

Wyman will also sit on AXA UK’s Commercial Executive Committee, and succeeds previous incumbent Tim Yorke, who will be departing the business at the end of November.

Experience in travel and financial services

Wyman joins AXA from outside the insurance industry, with 20 years of previous experience working in the telecoms, travel and financial services industries.

She leaves investor services group IQ-EQ, where she served as Group Head of Delivery for almost three years.

Wyman was also previously employed with travel services provider Expedia, including in her last role as Vice President, Lodging Marketplace Growth and Transformation.

“I am very pleased to welcome Ursula to the team. I am sure her breadth of knowledge will support the business to advance operational delivery and prepare for the future as we progress our digitisation and innovation agenda,” says Jon Walker.

In September, AXA Insurance UK announced that it will no longer sell own-brand overseas and UK travel insurance policies to new customers, as part of plans to ‘simplify its travel offering.’
