The strategic partnership means that AXA Hong Kong customers will now have access to a wider array of medical treatments and services in mainland China via UMP’s medical networks and administrative capabilities, particularly in the Greater Bay Area.
This includes an expansion of coverage in cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Zhuhai, as well as Beijing, Shanghai, and Chongqing.
Eligible AXA customers can now enjoy cashless services at designated mainland clinics, as well as specialist, cross-border referral services for further medical treatment, if needed. Medical transport services back to Hong Kong are also now available for advanced treatments.
The collaboration is in response to growing demand for cross-border medical and healthcare services. AXA stated that it intends to further expand its medical network in mainland China in the future, to include services such as screenings, colonoscopy, and gastroscopy.
“We are delighted to deepen our partnership with UMP, effectively leveraging the strengths of both companies to enhance the quality of cross-border healthcare services,” said Emily Li, Chief Employee Benefits and Wellness Officer at AXA Hong Kong.
