Aviva announces new CEO
Amanda Blanc will now take over the reins at the major insurer
Currently the insurer’s Independent Non-Executive Director, Amanda has previously served as CEO for EMEA and global banking partnerships at Zurich, and as CEO of AXA UK, PPP and Ireland. Additionally, she has held the roles of Chair of the Association of British Insurers and President of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
“We are delighted that Amanda will be our new CEO,” said George Culmer, Chairman of Aviva. “The board was unanimous in endorsing her appointment. I know she will bring real dynamism to Aviva and re-establish our credentials as a high-performing, innovative, consumer-focused business.”
Amanda herself commented: “Aviva is a great company, full of great people, and I’m honoured to be given the opportunity to shape its future. I want Aviva to be the leader in our industry again.”
While she will relinquish all her current non-executive roles, Amanda will continue to hold her voluntary role as Chair of the Welsh Professional Rugby Board.
