Adventurous Brits told to check insurance
With over half of Brits saying that they see trips away as a chance to undertake activities they would not usually do at home, Travel Insurance Explained (a campaign from UK travel insurance provider tifgroup to educate the general public about important insurance issues) has created a new video explaining the perils. According to Travel Insurance Explained, 62 per cent of Brits expect their insurance to cover activities such as rafting, banana boating, para-gliding and scuba diving.
Travel Insurance Explained asserts that there are many cases where holidaymakers haven’t considered whether or not they are covered by insurance, and that is worrying. It also points out that many Brits are getting on motorcycles, mopeds and quadbikes without proper safety gear, which has led to a rise in the number of Brits being involved in traffic accidents that are not covered by their insurance.
The company’s new video, presented by characters Joe and Ellie, explains to travellers in simple terms what policies do and do not cover on adventure holidays.
