Abu Dhabi suspends international patient care services

The Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DoH) has suspended international patient care (IPC) services after the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus a global health emergency
The decision is in line with DoH’s efforts to ensure all precautionary measures are in place to limit the risk of spreading the coronavirus, while still prioritising patients’ health and safety.
DoH co-operated with authorities, including the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, to ensure that IPC patients have access to healthcare services until it is safe for patients to be sent abroad for treatment. DoH is keeping in touch with international patients and their needs.
Hind Al Zaabi, Acting Director of International Patient Care Division at DoH said: "As soon as the World Health Organization declared the new coronavirus a global health emergency, we deemed it crucial to take immediate action and implement rigorous measures to control the spread of the virus. Taking protective measures are essential to ensure the health and safety of our society."
