Kuwait hikes expat healthcare fees
Kuwait has increased healthcare fees for expatriates for the second time since 2017.
According to the country’s health ministry, this is to reduce congestion at public hospitals and enable government-run clinics to accept more patients.
The 2017 increase of healthcare fees for foreigners represented the first increase in two decades and, later that year, the country more than doubled annual health insurance fees for expats.
The health ministry said that expats will now need to pay a fee of KD10 (US$33) when receiving treatment at a polyclinic.
