Healthtech partnership for AXA and Saga
Global insurer AXA is partnering with UK insurer Saga on the Mobility and Accessibility Challenge, a new category in AXA’s Health Tech & You programme that aims to discover technologies that enable people to have greater accessibility and mobility.
The category was launched as part of the fifth annual AXA Health Tech & You Awards and comes in the context of people living longer than ever before. AXA said that whether travelling on holiday or pursuing pastimes or daily activities, technology that fosters greater physical and social connectivity is instrumental in helping people enjoy more years in better mental and physical health.
The goal of the AXA Health Tech & You Awards is to drive AXA’s mission to discover, promote and support the inventors and innovations in healthtech.
“We’re extremely excited to be working with AXA on this year’s AXA Health Tech & You programme, to find new ways to use technology to make the lives of our members even better,” said Nick Reed, Senior Manager Strategy and Innovation at Saga. “We hope that the technologies coming through this Mobility and Accessibility Challenge will help us unlock new ways to equip our members to embrace adventure wherever they meet it, even where health had once been a barrier to doing so, to enable them to keep doing the things that they love.”
Richard Cooper, Head of Digital at AXA PPP healthcare, said: “Saga and AXA share a similar ethos in that we listen to what our customers want and need and respond accordingly. The technology we hope to see coming through this Challenge will aid people’s mobility and accessibility as they get older to help maintain both physical and mental wellness and promote independent living. We are delighted to be working with Saga as our partners on this new Challenge category.”
