Croatian hospital wins international healthcare accreditation
The Special Hospital for Pulmonary Diseases in Zagreb, Croatia, has received international healthcare accreditation from CHKS, a leading provider of healthcare intelligence and quality improvement services. The hospital is the first Croatian recipient of the CHKS Healthcare Accreditation.
Hospital manager Marino Artukovic said that the hospital has 34 beds for palliative care and is the biggest hospital capacity for palliative patients in Croatia. He said that the hospital operates in compliance with international standards: “Our work is in accordance with optimum standards for the activities we perform.”
Head of the Croatian Health Insurance Fund (HZZO) Lucijan Vukelic said that, in the last two years, this hospital had improved its results by 80 per cent – an ‘exceptional achievement’ that has been acknowledged by this international accreditation.
