Virgin Atlantic revises 2025 routes, dropping the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos
The UK-based airline currently operates two to three weekly flights to each destination
Virgin Atlantic has announced that its final inbound flight to Turks and Caicos will commence on 21 February next year with the final departure to the Bahamas from London Heathrow leaving two days later.
A spokesperson for the carrier said: “As we continue to focus on optimising our network, we regularly review the destinations we fly to.
“We’ve made the decision to increase our frequencies to Antigua, Barbados, and Cape Town next year, and to suspend operations to the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos.
“We’re very sorry for the disappointment caused to our customers flying to the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos, and anyone booked to travel on these routes from 24 February and 22 February respectively will be contacted with their options.”
Antigua flights will be raised to four per week for the winter 2024/25 travel season, ending on 30 April, while Barbados services will be extended to 10 per week.
In-season flights to Cape Town, South Africa, will be continued for an additional month, ending on 30 April.
Virgin Atlantic recently made the decision to scrap services to Shanghai from October this year.
