Virgin Atlantic prepares to launch direct Saudi Arabia flights
The daily service from London will start from March 2025
UK carrier Virgin Atlantic will commence daily flights to Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport from London Heathrow using Airbus A330neo aircraft.
The first flight is due to take off on 30 March 2025.
Tickets go on sale from 12 September 2024.
Virgin Atlantic will be the 10th airline to partner with Saudi Arabia’s Air Connectivity Program (ACP) this year.
Majid Khan, CEO of the ACP, commented: “The entry of Virgin Atlantic will enhance air connectivity and support the growth of international tourism from the UK as well as Virgin Atlantic’s network in North America.”
In a company announcement Virgin Atlantic said: “The market is expected to have a predominantly Saudi Arabian point of sale, which will see customers visiting the UK, as well as seamlessly connecting to 12 destinations throughout North America, on Virgin Atlantic and Delta networks, including Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Seattle, Boston and Detroit.”
The daily service aims to participate in the growth expected from Saudi Vision 2030.
Virgin Atlantic recently opted to scrap services to Shanghai, starting from October, due to cost inefficiency.
