Nichola Thomson GM

Nichola Thomson joins the premium health insurer

Bupa Global has announced the appointment of Nichola Thomson as its new General Manager for the UK and Africa.

Thomson will lead the management of Bupa Global’s business and strategy delivery in the UK, Africa and Bupa Egypt businesses, as the company seeks to maintain its position as the leading international private medical insurance (IPMI) provider in these markets.

Anthony Cabrelli, Managing Director of Bupa Global, said: “Our investment in senior leadership is demonstrative of the business’ commitment to the UK and Africa as priority markets.

“In addition to significant insurance experience, Nichola’s passion for customer excellence and developing high performance, inclusive teams will see her well-placed to drive growth and further strengthen our leadership position in the IPMI market, enhancing our capability to serve customers in these key regions.”

Thomson joins the health insurer after years in the industry, including executive positions across marketing, distribution, operations and transformation with Zurich, the insurer, and Jelf, an insurance broker.

Her most recent senior leadership role was Vice President of Insurance Business Services and Mphasis.

“I look forward to leading Bupa Global into the next phase of its journey in the UK and Africa, and supporting customers to access Bupa Global’s quality, expertise, and comprehensive health and wellbeing offering, when and where they need it, across 190+ countries,” she said.

Earlier this year, Bupa posted revenue results, showing the difference between the markets they cover.
