Monarch brand makes its return
The airline and operator collapsed six years ago
In 2017, the UK airline and holiday operator Monarch entered administration. However, over the weekend new social media channels and a website have been launched.
The message online states: “We’re working hard building a new Monarch, just for you.”
Posts on X, previously known as Twitter, under the handle @letsmonarch said: “Monarch Airlines Limited and Monarch Holidays Limited were yesterday [18 August] passed into new ownership following the exit of the companies’ founder and previous majority shareholder. More information will be forthcoming.”
The official brand is acting under the @letsmonarch handle on Instagram and X, while the website is letsmonarch.co.uk. The company has already warned about fake sites and accounts being set up after the relaunch announcement.
No further details have been released yet except Daniel Ellingham being named as Director of both businesses.
In an interview with Airways, a US aviation title, published on 20 August, he said he was ‘honoured’ to be leading Monarch’s new era and promised to ‘launch a new and strong company for the UK tourism sector’.
