Europ Assistance expands into Canada
Travel insurance and assistance firm Europ Assistance has announced the launch of its new Canadian division
The company has now officially launched its operations in Canada, with the introduction of a new travel insurance platform. The country is Europ Assistance’s 36th operational market, and second in North America after the US.
Europ Assistance stated that as part of its work to establish itself in Canada, it will offer “robust travel insurance” through “global and domestic partnerships with prominent travel providers, financial institutions, the retail sector and other distribution”, starting from this year.
Additionally, the company aims to partner with over 300 local entities, including “hospitals, clinics, air ambulances and other providers” to support its Canadian operations.
Robert Iafrate has been named as the new CEO of Europ Assistance Canada. Prior to his arrival at the company last year, he served at Manulife for 23 years – most recently as Assistant Vice President for Travel Insurance and Affinity Business Development.
Ayano Fukui, Network Manager for Europ Assistance Japan, spoke to Michelle Royle as part of ITIJ’s July 2024 issue.
